How to use classroom annotation tablets

SMART Notebook 17: Due to Microsoft updates, the previous version of SMART Notebook is no longer compatible with the classroom PC’s. ITS has acquired and deployed SMART Notebook 17, this application can be used with the remaining (discontinued) SMART podiums and the replacement annotation tablets.

For information on how to use SMART Notebook 17 with non-SMART annotation tablets, please download these instructions.

Microsoft Ink: Annotation on PowerPoint presentation can be accomplished by using Microsoft Ink, which is installed on the Windows 10 classroom computer image. This annotation method works similar to how SMART Ink was used on the now discontinued SMART Podium tablets.

Microsoft OneNote: The PDF below details how to open a PDF or like file with Microsoft OneNote on the Hi Tech Classroom computers. OneNote allows a user to annotate over a white background, import Powerpoint or PDF files, and annotate over those as well. Feel free to contact ait@uconn.edu with any questions or concerns.
